CLutter Friday March 12th
the clutter aesthetic is predicated on a non-hierarchical paradigm, a project to rehabilitate your booty through application of spontaneously modulated (often whomp-ass) frequency and the electricity we can absorb from the site-specific environment.
clutter loves reverb but is cognizant that reverb requires a verb in the first place. clutter feels that verb might be in your pants.
we have all heard of dancing in your head, but what about pondering in your pants? the hard part of anarchy is behaving yourself on the assumption that each person is also behaving responsibly. each potential moment can and is bent several ways by each participant ("passive" or "active".) the resultant torque, spun simultaneously several different ways, is clutter.
a circle is often if nonconsciously conceptualized as a center, with the circumference extrapolated from it. imagine a circle drawn from each position of the circumference interpolated inwards. that is the point of clutter.
This particular clutter-environment was the figment festival. even if we were cranky or poor or crampy or anxious about the ferry ride, when we started to play we were music. What you hear is the smell of early summer grass, what we saw was the taste of warm honey. there is a trombone and people who'd never met, meeting in real time. we were there to bear witness to real time.
